EV - Electric Vehicles

Are fully Electric Vehicles without any other source of propulsion then just the batteries. An EV must be plugged in to obtain energy to drive the vehicle and has a range limited by the battery pack. An other explanation for EV is BEV which means Battery Electric Vehicles.

HEV - Hybrid Electric Vehicles 

Works through a combination of an internal combustion engine, a bank of batteries, and an electric motor. This combination varies from “mild hybrids,” which simply reduce the engine size and boost acceleration with an electric motor to a set up wherein the engine runs only to produce electricity, that then runs an electric motor.

PHEV - Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles 

Have an onboard internal combustion engine that charges batteries or otherwise provides electricity to an electric motor. This electric motor either assists the internal combustion engine (in parallel HEVs) or is the sole mechanical link to the wheels (in series HEVs). What makes a PHEV different from a HEV is its ability to charge the batteries by plugging the vehicle in. This feature has the advantage of allowing the vehicle to run for some distance without running the internal combustion engine at all—thus reducing the use of petroleum.

EREV – Extended Range Electric Vehicles

Are different than other advanced propulsion systems. It uses electricity to drive the car’s wheels at all times and speeds. The Range Extender is a compact gasoline-powered generator whose sole purpose is to supply electricity when you want to drive beyond the range of the battery. It runs at several optimized rpm levels, which have been calibrated for maximum fuel efficiency.Once the battery management system detects the minimum charge level, the Range Extender automatically starts to generate electricity.

FCEV - Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles

Are an other completely different propulsion system compared to conventional vehicles. The Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles use electricity to power motors located near the vehicle’s wheels. However, the difference is that Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles produce their primary electricity using a fuel cell which in turn is powered by hydrogen filled tanks.The Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles produce zero harmful exhaust emissions, the only emission is water through the exhaust and are powered with hydrogen which is abundant in our nature.
